Sikhote Alin Meteorites For Sale
Sikhote-Alin meteorites are one of the most popular
meteorites
available on the meteorite market today. They come from a witnesses fall that occurred as violent fireball at 10:38 local time on the morning of February 12, 1947 in the Sikhote-Alin region of Eastern Siberia. It has been estimated that the meteorite entered the earth's atmosphere at a velocity of 31,000 miles per hour! The impact could be felt a hundred miles away. Witnesses said that it initially looked as a bright star, but soon turned into a dazzling fireball, which rapidly crossed the sky north to south, leaving a boiling dusty trail of meteoroid particles. Sikhotes are the quintessential iron meteorite, having superb remaglypts, fantastic shapes, and sometimes even flow lines! One or two Sikhotes are an absolute must for every collection. Unfortunately, over the
past several years, high quality Sikhotes have become virtually impossible to obtain. The supply has simply dried up and wholesale prices have more than tripled over the past three years. We believe that prices will continue to increase as people finally begin to realize that the supply has dried up. We were fortunate enough to be able to cherry pick a few wonderful examples of Sikhote-Alin meteorites which were found a number of years ago and which we are making available for our customers. We believe that these are the best quality Sikhotes that you will find anywhere on the internet. Compare our quality to the Sikhotes available elsewhere and you will see what we mean. These specimens may cost a little more than those elsewhere, but they are the best quality specimens.
