Background on our SR-71 Titanium Relics Arizona Skies Meteorites® is in no way affiliated with the Lockeed Martin Corporation or Motoart.
We are making a few pieces of our extremely rare aviation artifacts available for the first time as limited edition, custom-made rings. SR-71 titanium is hard and difficult to work, and there are no seams, joints or welds in the titanium of our rings. Each ring is painstakingly crafted from a seamless piece of SR-71 structural titanium beam similar to the one in the photo.
This custom ring is crafted from a structural piece of titanium from SR-71A "Super Skater" (61-7970) similar to the one shown in the photo. This aircraft was lost on 17 June 1970 following a post-re-fueling collision with the KC-135Q (59-1474) tanker. Lt. Col. Buddy L. Brown and his RSO Maj. Mortimer J. Jarvis both ejected and survived the crash. The KC-135 made it back to Beale AFB, California with a damaged refueling boom and aft fuselage. The SR-71 (61-7970) "Super Skater" crashed in the western Texas desert on non-Federally owned land. Our SR-71 relics are truly amazing and historically important artifacts!
This ring is inlaid with aluminum skin from Me-109 Wk.Nr. 610937 sourced from a Motoart Plane tag. This Me-109 was manufactured in 1944 at the Erla Werke in Leipzig, Germany. This aircraft was abandoned at the end of the war at the Zeltweg airfield in Austria, and after the War it served in the Bulgarian and Yugoslav airforces. The Me-109 inlay will wrap around approximately half of the ring.
The supply of these exceedingly rare, historically important aviation relics is extremely limited so if you have ever dreamed of owning an authentic Me-109 / SR-71 ring from the fastest manned jet aircraft ever built, and one of WW2's greatest fighters, now is the time to step up before the supply runs out. All our rings come with a Certificate of Authenticity and make perfect wedding bands, engagement rings and gifts for pilots, the military, and history, aviation or space enthusiasts.
