Arizona Skies Meteorites® authentic, mission flown SR-71 Blackbird "Hi Ti" titanium bolt artifact! This is a excellent example of an SR-71 Titanium "Hi Ti" bolt and nut artifact. This highly specialized bolt was attached to a heavy Titanium structural beam. If you look at the end of the bolt, that isn't a standard Phillips screw head. It is a unique, curved, modified type of screw head used on the SR-71 Blackbird. The bolt itself measures about 0.93 inches in length. This is a very interesting artifact for the serious collector and came from SR-71A "Super Skater" (61-7970)! This This aircraft was lost on 17 June 1970 following a post-re-fueling collision with the KC-135Q (59-1474) tanker. Lt. Col. Buddy L. Brown and his RSO Maj. Mortimer J. Jarvis both ejected and survived the crash. The KC-135 made it back to Beale AFB, California with a damaged refueling boom and aft fuselage. The SR-71 (61-7970) "Super Skater" crashed in the western Texas desert on non-Federally owned land.
