Not sure if we want to let this one go! Gorgeous, original 1926 oil on canvas painting of a lovely young indian maiden and her suitor on a moonlit night. The young maiden is sitting next to a campfire in the forest wearing a deerskin dress with a silver concho belt around her waist and silver bracelet on her wrist. She's wearing a colorful beaded headband that matches her beautiful, beaded moccasins. She is sitting on a beautiful brightly colored indian blanket. The lighting portrayed in this painting is particularly notable, with a fantastic rendition of both the moonlight as well as the light from the campfire! This painting is dated 1926, and signed F.A. Smith, which is believed to be Francis Arlene Smith (1905 - 1992). This beautiful painting is reminescent of Edward Mason Eggleston. Overall excellent condition for a 93 year old painting! The vintage frame has a few minor dings as would be expected but is overall very good shape. This painting is attractively framed and ready to hang.
