This is a large, oil on canvas painting appears to depict the battle for Okinawa during the war in the Pacific. This action packed painting depicts Kamikazes attacking the US fleet off Okinawa during the spring of 1945. In the foreground is a Japanese Ki-43 Oscar carrying two bombs on its Kamikaze run. In the background a furious battle rages between US escort ships and a flight of Japanese Kamikazes. In the distance a US escort carrier burns. We have been informed that this painting is a rendition of a painting by Tony Weddel.
