Battleship Bismark:
The Bismark was the most infamous and feared battleship of WWII. She was designed to raid allied shipping convoys. With her eight 15 inch main guns she had the potential to literally decimate the convoys of the North Atlantic. On her first mission she was under strict orders to avoid engagements with enemy battleships. The Bismark tried to elude British battleships, but was detected and ended up in a fire fight with the HMS Hood and HMS Prince of Wales. Within the first 10 minutes, the Bismark had sunken the HMS Hood which had been thought to be invincible. Admiral Holland and 1,415 crewmen went to the bottom with the Hood. The Prince of Wales was also badly damage in the action and was forced to disengage. The British began the most massive naval hunt for the Bismark and three days later sank her after disabling her steering controls.
