Spectacular USA Dromaeosaur Raptor Claw

This is a Raptor claw from a Dromaeosaur. It is from the late Cretaceous, and was found in a channel deposit in eastern Montana on private land with the owner's permission. It measures 1 1/2 inches in length (straight-line measurement), and is a fantastic state of preservation with absolutely No Restoration! Raptor claws from the Hell Creek formation are amongst the most sought after types of all dinosaur fossils. You almost never see raptor claws in this well preserved a state, and when you do you had better grab them!

Buyer Alert! It appears that over the past year or so a large number of fake hell creek dinosaur "claws" have entered the fossil market. These Fake claws appear to have been carved (in all sizes and shapes) from REAL dinosaur long bone. Unfortunately, these fakes have fooled quite a few people. The grain of dinosaur long bone is typically quite straight, while, in our experience, the grain of curved REAL dinosaur claws closely follows the curve of the claw! Caveat Emptor!
