This is a Monster (4.1 inch, straight line measurement), well preserved Carcharodontosaurus tooth. This enormous meat eater was larger than Tyrannosaurus rex, growing to 45 feet in length and a massive 8 tons! This tooth is a really huge specimen with some root still attached. It has large ripples on either side of its serrated edge as is often the case in large theropod teeth. The serrations are clearly visible on both edges of its blade, and tip is in good condition with minor feeding wear. This specimen may have been found in two pieces that fit back together neatly, or it may have been found in one piece with a hair-line crack around it-hard to say. In any case, it is a spectacular, enormous tooth from one of the largest land living predators that ever lived!
